Koshou Ryu Ju-Jitsu is a modern Ju-Jitsu system that is based on older forms of traditional Ju-Jitsu, complimented with techniques from other styles of martial arts.
Koshou Ryu was founded in 1997 by the Chief Instructor, Shihan George Cushinan, and has been taught to 100’s of students throughout Markham over the past 21 years.
Koshou Ryu Ju-Jitsu includes all ranges of combat, from standup to ground survival.
Founder & Chief Instructor George Cushinan, is a 7th Dan Black Belt/Shihan in Koshou Ryu Ju-Jitsu (World Kobudo Federation 2015), 4th Dan Black Belt in Budoshin Ju-Jitsu (Professor George Kirby 2013), 2nd Dan Black Belt in Seishinkan Northern Karate (Hanshi Cezar Borkowski/Kyoshi Tony LaSelva 2015), and also holds other black belt levels in various styles of Ju-Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, and Combat Hapkido.
Shihan George Cushinan has been studying a variety of martial arts for over 38 years (Ju-Jitsu, Karate, Hapkido, Aikido/Aikijujutsu, Combat Survival/Commando Krav Maga, Police & Military Defensive Tactics), and is a member of the World Kobudo Federation, Budoshin Ju-Jitsu Yudanshakai (Leadership Advisory Board Member), American Ju-Jitsu Association, Yamabushi Jujutsu/Aikijutsu Association, World Martial Arts Federation (Canadian Director), the International JuJitsu Organization (Canadian Director), the IFOJJ-International Federation of Jujutsuans, and UFAF-United Fighting Arts Federation.
Shihan George Cushinan oversees the Koshou Ryu Ju-Jitsu style, assists in the direction and teaching of the Markham programs, and teaches Ju-Jitsu Self-Defense & Control Tactics seminars and programs in select locations.
